Colas belong to the family Sterculiaceae and more precisely to the species Cola Accuminata.
They are the fruits of the cola tree, a tropical tree from Africa and South America that can reach a height of 10 to 20 meters. A tree with many particularities. It is only after its 10th year that the cola tree becomes productive. It has oval leaves and at the beginning of summer creamy white flowers which are either hermaphroditic or only male.
The fruits are similar to chocolate truffles in one more dented. Each one contains between 5 and 10 kola seeds, the size of a pigeon egg.
