Sigesbeckia orientalis, also known as "colle-colle", "guérit-vite" or "herbe de Saint-Paul" in Réunion, is a plant originating from India and amphinaturised on the island.
Well known to the inhabitants of Réunion, colle-colle is included in the A list of the French pharmacopoeia for cutaneous use.
It is traditionally used in Reunion Island as a skin application to treat boils, erythema, eczema, boils, wounds and bacterial infections.

Anti-inflammatory
Several studies report anti-inflammatory and anti-rheumatic properties of siegesbeckia orientalis.
Analgesic
The presence of kirenol in the plant gives it analgesic properties.
Healing
Glue-glue contains a molecule that increases the elasticity of the skin, reduces inflammation and promotes healing.
Examples of uses
Skin use
In traditional herbal medicine, glue-glue decoction is applied as a compress or used in a bath to treat areas affected by wounds, injuries and various dermatoses (ulcers, scabs, herpes, tambave, itching).
The generally recommended preparation is a decoction: boil for 10 minutes between 20 and 30g of crushed dry plant in a litre of water, then filter.
