SPICE
For centuries, saffron has been used as a spice and remedy. Even in a simple rice dish, the plant can release a variety of medicinal effects. Saffron is considered one of the oldest remedies in human history.
The saffron we offer comes from Taliouine, a valley at an altitude of 1'000 m in the southern Atlas Mountains.
Moroccan saffron differs from saffron from other cultivation areas by its high concentration of crocins, saffron and picrocrocins, and thus by its very high quality.
The saffron threads are certified organic and FAIRTRADE.
APPLICATION
For cooking: To preserve the aromatic fragrance, saffron should not be cooked for too long. It is recommended to soak the scar legs in a little hot water for a few minutes and add the liquid to the dish towards the end of the cooking time. An even more intense colouring is achieved when the saffron threads are freshly ground.
As a tea: For each cup of tea, place 2-3 saffron threads in hot water and let them steep for about 5 minutes. Best as a soothing and refreshing morning tea.
