Our pumpkin seeds (also called African pistachios) are grown by local farmers in Cameroon and hand-picked to ensure that only the highest quality goes into our products. They are a rich source of nutrients such as protein, fibre, omega-3 fatty acids, iron, zinc and magnesium, making them an excellent choice for a healthy and nutritious diet.

Our pumpkin seeds are completely natural and contain no artificial colours or flavours. They are also gluten-free, making them suitable for people with gluten intolerance or coeliac disease.

Delicious recipe: Egusi soup with chicken and African pistachios.


Ingredients:

500 g chicken breast, diced.
1 onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, chopped
2 tbsp palm oil
1 cup ground African pistachios (Egusi)
2 cups chicken stock
2 tomatoes, chopped
2 tbsp tomato paste
Salt and pepper
Fresh parsley, chopped
Optional: spinach or other vegetables to taste

Instructions:

Heat the palm oil in a large pot and fry the onion and garlic until soft and translucent.
Add the chicken and fry until golden brown.
Add the ground pistachios and toast them, stirring constantly, until they are lightly browned and have a nutty aroma.
Add the chicken stock, tomatoes and tomato paste and stir well.
Let the soup simmer over medium heat for about 20 minutes until the chicken is cooked and the soup has a thicker consistency.
Season the soup with salt and pepper and add more spices if needed.
Serve the soup hot, garnished with chopped parsley and optionally some spinach or other vegetables to your taste.
