It can also be used to treat high blood pressure, regulate blood sugar levels and act on the liver. All these factors help to combat diabetes effectively, making this plant a very interesting natural alternative for diabetics.
How to use Rose of Jericho
Rose of Jericho is only consumed as an infusion or decoction.
We recommend that you start by using small quantities of Rose of Jericho, to check that you can tolerate it. You can then increase the dose slightly.
Hot infusion
Bring a bowl of water to the boil.
Leave to cool until the water is no longer hot (around 40°C)
Add a few sprigs of rose of Jericho and leave to infuse
For non-diabetics, you can sweeten your infusion at this stage.
Cold infusion
Place the whole rose of Jericho in a bowl of cold water
Leave the rose of Jericho to open for several hours
Once it has opened completely, remove the rose of Jericho and leave it to dry on absorbent paper for 2 to 3 weeks.
At this stage, you can eat it cold. If you prefer to eat it hot, follow these steps:
Heat the contents of your bowl to the desired temperature, not exceeding 40°C.
For non-diabetics, you can sweeten your infusion at this stage.
This method allows you to reuse the Rose of Jericho, as it is not denatured by the heat. However, please only reuse it once, after storing it in a dry place.
