Essential oil
Turmeric is an herbaceous, deciduous plant. It is the root of this plant (rhizome) that is dried and crushed to obtain an orange powder. Turmeric is used for Indian curry.
Because of its aromatic and flavour properties, turmeric is used in cooking and belongs to the same family as ginger.The essential oil of turmeric comes from steam distillation of the turmeric rhizome.The essential oil is Ecocert certified (CH-BIO-006).
EFFECTS
- Turmeric promotes the flow of bile and is used to relieve bloating, flatulence and upset stomach.
- In pharmacy, the anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and detoxifying properties of turmeric roots are used
USES
- Recommended dosage (according to current European regulations): 1 to 2 drops per kg or per litre of food preparation.
- A few drops in a suitable diffuser
PRECAUTIONS
- Photosensitising essential oil: do not expose to the sun after use
- Wash your hands before and after using essential oils
- Do not use on pregnant women in the first 3 months of pregnancy
- Breastfeeding women: ask your doctor for advice
- Must not be used on babies and children under 7 years of age
- Do not leave essential oil bottles within reach of children
