ETHERIC OIL
Roman camomile or sweet camomile is a perennial plant that flowers between July and September. It is found in western Europe and western France. Its flowers resemble small daisies on stems covered with a light down.
The essential oil of Roman chamomile comes from steam distillation of chamomile flower heads. It should not be confused with the essential oil of German chamomile, which has different virtues and methods of application. The essential oil of Roman chamomile has a fruity scent reminiscent of apple.
Roman chamomile essential oil is characterised by its high content of monoterpene esters.
EFFECTS
- Roman chamomile has a high content of esters (isobutyl angelica and isoambyl). These ingredients, which are extremely rare in essential oils, have a particularly calming effect: they promote sleep, are relaxing, analgesic, sedative, stress-relieving and antidepressant. They are also antifungal, antispasmodic and protect the skin.
- The essential oil of Roman chamomile is used for sleep disorders, inner restlessness, nervousness, anxiety attacks and the treatment of anxiety.
- It is especially recommended for hyperactive people
- Applied to the skin, it is effective against all forms of neuralgia. As it is very kind to the skin, it is also recommended for eczema and psoriasis.
USE
- Use of organic essential oil of Roman chamomile: 1 to 2 drops per kg or per litre of food preparation.
- Seek medical advice before using therapeutically or taking orally
- Oral intake:
- 1 drop of organic Roman chamomile essential oil twice daily in an herbal tea with a little honey to counteract nervous breakdowns, anxiety or sleep disorders
- External use on the skin:
- Mix 20 drops of organic chamomile essential oil Roman with 100 ml of neutral vegetable oil; as a massage against anxiety and nervousness
- As a fragrance oil:
- In an aroma diffuser, Roman chamomile essential oil can have a calming effect on restless sleep patterns and nightmares
CAUTION
- Photoensitoisation essential oil: Do not expose yourself to the sun after use.
- Wash hands before and after using essential oils.
- Do not use on pregnant women during the first 3 months of pregnancy.
- Breastfeeding women: Ask your doctor for advice.
- Must not be used on babies and children under 7 years of age.
- Keep essential oil bottles away from children.
