Penja pepper is a pepper grown in Cameroon in the commune of Penja.
Pepper is grown here on a few plantations in a valley on the fertile volcanic soil of Mount Cameroon. In addition to this, the very good climatic conditions, the tropical climate, ensure that an excellent quality of pepper grows here.
Since 2013, Penja pepper has been the first pepper to bear the African IGP (Protected Geographical Indication) label - which protects the designation of origin of the pepper.
Pensa black pepper, like Pensa white pepper, comes from the Penja region of Cameroon and is one of the finest pepper varieties in the world. It is distinguished by its powerful and aromatic taste.
Our black Pensa pepper is hand-picked and sun-dried to preserve its quality and aroma. It is ideal for seasoning meat dishes, soups, stews and sauces.
Compared to other varieties of black pepper, Pensa pepper has a slightly milder spiciness and a more complex aroma. It has an earthy note and contains subtle citrus and floral notes.
Try Pensa black pepper and give your dishes an incomparable flavour and aroma.
